About Imagine Health
At Imagine Health, we are building the next generation of autonomous robotic diagnostic
systems combining embodied AI, robotics, and clinical intelligence to enable robots that
perceive, reason, and act with precision to deliver on-demand data to the clinicians.
Our team is a cross-disciplinary group of roboticists, ML researchers, engineers, and clinicians
driven by a shared goal: to create safe, intelligent robotic systems to improve human health.
About the Roles
As a Robotics Perception intern or Robotics Control Intern or a Safety and System
Integration Intern, you will be working on core challenges at the intersection of robotics, AI,
medical imaging and safety. This is a hands-on, in-person role in our London lab — where
you’ll collaborate with a small, world-class team and work with robotic systems, medical
devices, and clinical testbeds.
You’ll be contributing to the design, development, and testing of perception pipelines and control
strategies that enable our robotic system to understand and adapt to the human body in
real-time.
1. Robotics Perception Intern
Develop models for 3D reconstruction of external body surface from RGB-D or LiDAR
sensors and internal anatomy models from medical sensors
Build visual-inertial-force-medical sensor fusion pipelines
Work with tools like Open3D, ROS2, PyTorch, IsaacSim and OpenCV
Ideal background: Computer vision, robotics perception, SLAM, or medical imaging
2. Robotics Controls Intern
Develop and simulate control policies for robotic arms in contact with soft tissue
Implement trajectory planning and force-limited motion strategies
Research and prototype learning-based controllers
Work with robot platforms and simulators (e.g., ROS2, MoveIt, Gazebo, IsaacSim)
Ideal background: Robotics control, dynamics, MPC, haptics, trajectory optimization
3. Safety & System Integration Intern
Develop real-time monitoring and safety strategies for human-robot interaction
Build fault-detection or introspection modules for redundant sensing and safety
Collaborate on test protocols and system-level integration
Contribute to compliance-aware design (ISO)
Ideal background: Robotics systems, embedded safety, control systems, mechatronics
What We Look For (All Roles)
MS or PhD students in robotics, computer vision, AI, controls, mechatronics, or related
fields
Proficiency in C++ or Python, experience with ROS2 strongly preferred
Experience building real or simulated robotic systems
Excited to work in person in our London lab and contribute to real-world robotic products
For you
Opportunity to work with an exceptional team of researchers and engineers who have
worked in Dyson, Ocado, Humanoid and Amazon
Hands-on development of robotic systems and real-world clinical use cases
Learn and apply best practices in robotic software design, AI control, safety and human-robot interaction
Potential to publish, and exposure to the frontlines of healthcare innovation
Competitive stipend and Possibility of extension or conversion to a full-time role
